Kayaking Up The Kennal

With the aim of making the most of the August Bank Holiday weekend, George set off on a kayaking adventure with Truro Round Table on the Friday evening. Perhaps not the expected Friday night out for a Financial Planner in Cornwall!

The trip started with a waterside briefing from Peter Stephens of Westcountry Watersports at Mylor Marina. This was straight forward enough and the motley crew were soon on the water and paddling through the boats of the marina.

Progress was swift as they followed the coast and were soon heading past Restronguet Point and up the Kennal. Despite an early temptation, the Pandora Inn was bypassed where plenty of holiday makers were enjoying the evening.

The scenery around this part of the creek was amazing and seeing it from the water made it even more special. Had fishing rods been taken, there would have been Bass for dinner, they were everywhere!

Alas, the trip rolled on and everyone was soon back at the marina. Following a quick debrief and having given thanks to Peter, it was off to the Pandora Inn for a well-earned supper, and of course the obligatory pint! What a fantastic start to the weekend.
